With Champions League on the line Tottenham knew that with a win today against Manchester City it would put them one step closer to a top four finish.

            At that start of the game Tottenham could not find there way however Man City started to play like they did last year, a team that was nasty and able to connect on all there passes. As the pressure was coming in the early minutes Tottenham couldn’t defend Carlos Tevez pass to James Millner and as result he connected with Samir Nasri who eventually scored and as result Tottenham was down 1 goal. The goal that Samir Nasri had was his first since opening day and with that goal the city fans saw hope in their ever-daunting task of catching Man United. As the half continued Man City seemed ready to pounce on another goal but as the half way went on Tottenham stated to find themselves and kept their defense firm.

            In the second half Man City defense wit stand Tottenham pressure for the first 30 minutes of the half until Garth Bale showed why he is the leading candidate for player of the year. In the 74th minute  Bale connected with the American phenom Clint Dempsey on a nice one two and as result Hart couldn’t get their in  time and gave up the lead. With game tied Tottenham kept fighting and felt the momentum shift when Jermaine Defoe shot  found the net for first time since Boxing day. As the game went on Garth Bale felt the need to join the party as he has done so often this season when he scored in the 82nd minute. With that goal Tottenham knew 4th place was ever so closer and 8 minutes later found themselves with a victory.

            With that victory Tottenham moved to 5th and one point behind Chelsea and Two points Behind Arsenal. As for City the loss meant their daunting task of catching Man Utd was surely over because they know all united needs is a victory which could come as early as Tomorrow. Lastly looking into the future Tottenham knows that if they keep this pressure they might seem themselves in place where they have not been in a long time.
